5 AM wakeup that feels like home. Morning light snaking its way through the canyon as we climb up the hill. Potent smells of sage as we brush our way through the bushes. Layers upon layers of light as the sun rises over the ridge. Legs dangling over red cliff ledges and rocks thrown across the river. Down through the meadow while stepping over large patches of prickly pear in full bloom. Tiny waterfalls and nests in the cliff edges. Back to camp in time for breakfast.
